Hi Friend,

How to Turn a Nation Against God

We knew Fidel Castro did not have long to live. He was old and sick-and Cuba's medical system is so inadequate that doctors had to be imported from Spain to treat him. And he gave up power. A man like Castro does not voluntarily relinquish power until he has one foot in the grave.

What is shocking is the adulation given by people in the free world. Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said, "Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation."

One person responded, "That's a bit like saying Stalin solved the obesity problem in Russia."

The truth is that Castro brought the world to the brink of nuclear war by inviting Russia to put nuclear weapons in Cuba for the purpose of using them against America. For a few hours Russian and American ships were at a face-to-face standstill in the Atlantic Ocean before Russia backed down and the Cuban Missile Crisis was over.

The Cuban Archive has documented 3,615 firing squad executions of citizens deemed disloyal to Castro since 1959. "Che" Guevara, whose face adorns many T-shirts in America, was the chief enforcer of many of the executions ordered by Castro.

The first thing communist governments do is attack God. Castro was no exception as he imprisoned and murdered Christians. Over 35,000 religious minorities, hippies and homosexuals were imprisoned in forced labor camps where they were required to work from dawn to dusk in agricultural production as part of their rehabilitation program.

Another example of communist tyranny against religion is East Germany. A recent study called Beliefs About God Across Time and Countries was unable to find a single person under 28 in Eastern Germany who believed in God.

The Communist Party from 1945 until 1990, in its explicit hostility to religion, was able to destroy Christianity in an entire country. Maybe the most potent tool of Satan to attack Christianity is communism and the second is socialism. And America contemplated electing a socialist president.

Young people in Eastern Germany were required to undergo a so-called Jugendweihe-a sort of atheist confirmation. Even though communism is gone, this ceremony is still practiced today.

The Prophet Ezekiel in chapter 28 refers to a being that was once a covering cherub-that is, he was a witness at the very throne of God as justice was being dispensed by the One who became known as Jesus. Yet Lucifer, this covering cherub, rebelled against God. I used to wonder how a spirit being who had had first hand experience at the center of righteousness could become evil.

There's another enigma in scripture. Jesus will return to the earth to set up a just and good kingdom that will rule for 1,000 years. At the end of that millennial reign of Christ, men will be convinced to turn against the source of goodness.

Is it possible that men could be convinced to actually fight against Christ, the One who died for mankind?  The evidence of college professors and politicians who, while enjoying the fruit of freedom, are still eulogizing Castro as a virtuous man is convincing testimony that they could just as easily embrace the devil himself.

Until next time,
